Casa Melosa

Casa Melosa definitely lived-up to the descriptions given. The villa was beautiful and extremely well-equipped and there was extensive information on what to do in the area, with recommendations on where to eat, shop and visit.
The owners were really helpful and even sent us some information in the post to help us plan our stay. The owner's representative was also really lovely. We had some problems with our car, and she went out of her way to ensure we were OK. The beach was only 5-10 minutes' drive and there was easy access to the motorway network for trips further afield. La Barrosa beach is sandy with lots of bars, restaurants and great sunsets. As we were not in the main season, it was fairly quiet in the week but more lively at the weekend. We visited Cadiz and interesting inland villages such as Arcos de la Frontera. We stumbled on a tuna festival in a town just along the coast from Chiclana, and we were privileged to see the Spanish at play. My family stayed at Casa Melosa for two weeks in the summer of 2008 and returned in the summer of 2009. The villa is located a short drive from excellent beaches, Barossa and Sancti Petri to name just two. The accomodation is as described by Lesley and offers a very comfortable, home from home environment. The weather was fabulous on both occasions we stayed at the villa, and our family of 6 had a relaxing, stress free holiday. Casa Melosa is perfect for a family holiday, perfectly placed close to excellent sandy beaches ( I couldn't believe how warm the sea was!), good facilities all within 20 mins drive and a great part of unspoilt Spain, where the Spanish go on holiday. The villa is even better than described with a few hidden extras which make your stay all the more comfortable. The owners go out of their way to make sure everything is just right and if you want it, beforehand are there to provide extra information about fiestas and restaurants etc. This is in addition to a very comprehensive 'house bible'. What a fantastic week we had, the villa was outstanding! All we could need for an amazing holiday. Everything was of very good quality and at no point during our stay did we have moment where we thought "oh we could just do with.....". We really enjoyed Casa Melosa - it was even better than the photos & descriptions online! Everything worked fine, the pool was great and the location really good. We went to Morocco for one day, spent time in Tarifa, went to Cadiz & Chiclana. The boys golfed and we read a lot of books by the pool and enjoyed wine and the grill.
